Fees for Psychological Services
At OCD Spectrum, we are committed to providing personalized and effective psychological services. We offer a 10-minute free consultation with a therapist to help assess fit and answer preliminary questions.
Understanding Our Insurance Policies
OCD Spectrum does not accept insurance as an in-network provider; however, most of our patients are able to utilize their out-of-network (OON) benefits to help defray some of the costs of therapy. We strongly encourage you to contact your insurance plan to determine the extent of your OON benefits and understand how to collect them. Please note that while we do not file insurance claims, we are happy to provide a superbill upon request, which you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Fee for service is due at the time of service.
** Dr. Riley is an independent-contract psychiatrist who sees patients at OCD Spectrum. He is an in-network provider for the UPMC commercial insurance plan.

Psychiatry Services (Dr. Joshua Riley-Graham)
- Initial Consultation: 90 minutes, $400 (E&M Codes: 99203, 99204, 99205)
- Standard Session: 60 minutes, $350 (includes medication check and therapy; E&M Codes: 99213, 99214, 99215 with add-on code 90838)
- Follow-up for Medication Management: 30 minutes, $200 (E&M Codes: 99213, 99214, 99215 with add-on codes 90833 or 90836 as appropriate)
- Dr. Riley is an in-network provider for the UPMC commercial insurance plan.
Detailed Billing Information
- Any session 30 minutes or less is coded as a 90832.
- Planned sessions longer than 40-45 minutes are billed at the code 90837 and will be discussed in advance to avoid unanticipated charges.
- Prorated fees for any session:
- 55-70 minutes: Billed at base rate x 1.25
- 70-85 minutes: Billed at base rate x 1.5
- 85-100 minutes: Billed at base rate x 1.75
- 100-115 minutes: Billed at base rate x 2
Payment and Insurance
Payment is due at the time of service. We can provide superbills for each session that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please consult your insurance provider to understand your coverage for out-of-network mental health services.
Method of Payment
OCD Spectrum accepts various forms of payment:

- Check
- Prepaid cards
- Health Savings Cards (HSA)
- Flex Spending Accounts (FSA)
Please note that our credit card processing is handled through our electronic medical records platform, Therapy Notes. An active credit card must be on file before appointments are scheduled, and it will be charged upon completion of the service provided. Returned checks are subject to a $35 fee. Non-compliance with payment terms may result in collections charges.
Cancellation Policy
Therapy and psychiatry appointments are reservations that you are making with your provider for their time and expertise. Our providers arrange their personal lives to be available for your scheduled appointment and their livelihood is dependent upon providing these services. Late cancellations and/or no-shows negatively impact your treatment progress and they also prevent other patients from receiving care as they could have been seen in that time slot.
The full session fee is due for cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice for therapy appointments, group therapy sessions, and psychiatric appointments.
